The restaurant

"La Loggetta", a traditional Tuscan cuisine restaurant, is located in the heart of the historic centre of Cortona (Arezzo), an Etruscan town that is well-renowned for its historic and artistic attractions and for the famous Tuscan countryside in its surroundings. Housed in the wine cellars of a 13th century building, this classic Tuscan-style restaurant will amaze you with its beautiful ceilings embellished with wooden beams, its floors in terracotta tiles, its brick arches and its wall frescoes.
The name "loggetta" refers to the lovely 13th century loggia overlooking piazza della Repubblica, which is characterised by historic and valuable buildings like the Town Hall with its marvellous stone staircase and a 16th century bell tower.
Since 2002 Marco and Lara are pleased to welcome you in a cosy and elegant restaurant that enhances the scents and flavours of the traditional Tuscan cuisine, which is creatively revisited by using only top quality in-season products. Chef Marco Frivoli, always in search of the gastronomic roots of the area, makes constant use of typical ingredients from the territory of Arezzo and of other Italian provinces, ranging from the famous Chianina steak to red chicory. Moreover, the same amount of attention given to cooking is paid to hospitality by Lara, who will guide you through your menu choices with professionalism and charm.

During spring and summer it is possible to have lunch or dinner in the open air, under the loggia of this well-renowned typical restaurant of Cortona, surrounded by an enchanting medieval atmosphere. And don't miss interesting wine tasting complemented with traditional Tuscan dishes, as well as the delicious theme dinners with local products and the excellent fish dinners that are prepared only upon reservation.
Restaurant "La Loggetta", open all year round both for lunch and dinner except on Wednesdays, is recommended by the best national and international tourist, and wine and food guide books such as the Michelin, Gambero Rosso, Rick Steves and Lonely Planet guide books, L’Italia dei vini e del gusto, Forchetta d’autore and L’Espresso travel books.
